What brings people to therapy
You don't need to have everything figured out before getting in touch. Most people reach out when something in their family feels stuck, painful, or hard to talk about.
Addiction is affecting your family
A partner's drinking, a child using drugs, a sibling in crisis. You're exhausted, worried, and unsure whether you're helping or making things worse. You don't have to carry this alone.
Family relationships feel stuck
Constant arguments, silence, distance, or a sense that you're all walking on eggshells. Family therapy can help you hear each other again — and find a way through.
Your relationship needs support
Trust has been broken. Communication has dried up. You're separating and want to do it well. Couples therapy offers a safe space to work things through together.
How I can help
I work across two connected areas — both rooted in systemic and relational approaches that look at the whole picture, not just one person.
Specialism
Families & Addiction
When someone you love is using drugs or alcohol, the whole family is affected. I work with the people around addiction — partners, parents, siblings, adult children — because your experience matters too, and change in the family system can support everyone's recovery.

Family, Couples & Adolescent Therapy
Systemic therapy works with the relationships between people, not just individuals. Whether you're navigating conflict, a life transition, parenting challenges, or simply want to communicate better — I offer a warm, non-judgmental space to explore what's happening and find a way forward.

About Rebecca
15 years of experience with families navigating difficult times
I've spent over fifteen years working with families affected by substance use across the NHS and third sector — at organisations including Change Grow Live, The Forward Trust, Turning Point, and Cranstoun Drug Services.
I'm currently completing my qualifying-level MSc in Systemic Family Psychotherapy at the Institute of Family Therapy, with clinical placements in addiction services and an NHS eating disorder service.
My research explores how hope is experienced and sustained by families affected by addiction — not as a feeling you either have or don't, but as something actively done and shared within relationships.
What to expect
Therapy should feel safe, human, and genuinely useful. Here's what working with me looks like.
Safe & confidential
A non-judgmental space where everyone's experience is heard and respected.
Whole-family thinking
Systemic therapy looks at relationships and patterns, not just one person.
Realistic hope
Change is possible, even when things feel stuck. We work with what's here.
Warm & steady
I bring warmth, consistency, and a genuine belief in your family's capacity to change.
